The 7.8-kilometer Mingzhuwan Bridge with Steel Trusses, which will run from Wanhuanxi Road in Wanqingsha Island all the way to Humen Lianluo Road, will form a high-speed traffic corridor connecting Nansha with downtown Guangzhou, Hong Kong International Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and Guangzhou South Railway Station. It will further cement Nansha's role as a gateway to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
According to engineers from the contractor China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group, the main bridge will have three steel trusses which will span over 436 meters. Many new technologies, materials and various other advanced equipment will be used. Difficulties concerning environment protection, geology and safety will also be addressed during the construction process.
