Design Loads

The following loads shall be considered in design calculations:
1). Self-weight of the space frame structure
2). Cover load (KN/m2)
3). Live Load (KN/m2)
4). Wind loads (mph)
5). Earthquake load (KN/m2)
6). Temperature changes (℃)
7). Ventilation system
8). Snow load (if any)

Design Method

All external loads acting on the space frame shall be applied to the system at connection nodes. Bar members shall only be axially loaded and no loads shall be applied to bars in a way to cause flexural moments. System analysis shall be performed by “matrix displacement “method based on elastic theory. Computer outputs of the analysis shall be submitted to the client. The number of support points in the lower part of the space frame structure will have a great influence on the structure design and thus affect the structure cost. These outputs shall contain the geometrical properties of the system, applied loads, loading combinations, resulting member forces and stresses, displacements, support reactions and member selections.

Design Standard

EN standard required by French TKIS, AISC&ASEC 7-10 are commonly used in our designs. While adopting these design standards, it is also necessary to meet Chinese design standards. That is to say, the design meets double standards.
The difference between Chinese design standard and American design standard can be seen below:
