Steel Truss Structure

With regard to the steel structure project, the components of the secondary frame, girder, and purlin are used as the connection point and support of the wall and the roof slab. Although these can withstand small pressures, the corsets and purlins are not designed to withstand large wind loads or other torsion conditions. Generally, when the main steel frame protection structure is not completely destroyed, if there is no additional support, the girders and purlins will suffer too much damage, and they will not be able to exert their force.

  1. The beams and markings are used as supports to resist the longitudinal load imposed on the building panels. If there is no purlin design to support the roof panel, the truss design supports the wall panel. When the pressure on the wall or roof panel distorts or bends the web or flange of the second frame member, it will deform and reduce its effectiveness.

  1. In order to stabilize and protect the purlin truss, various supporting technologies and components are usually used to strengthen the rigidity of the secondary components. Because the effective support provides lateral support, it can prevent the flange from moving to one side, and the member from rotating at the flange or in the web. At the same time, the support can also prevent the entire secondary assembly and the panel from moving laterally.

  1. Hot-rolled section steel usually does not show distortion buckling or local buckling. However, commonly used cold-rolled components are not as stable as hot-rolled components, and are prone to secondary torsion and deflection. Therefore, the support design of purlins and trusses is needed in steel structure engineering, generally to prevent the situation mentioned above. The support system of steel structure engineering needs to provide stability for cold-formed steel components; cold-formed steel components have lower requirements for the supporting system.

  1. In addition, the purlins of high-inclined steel roofs are more sensitive to torsion. Dead load, live load and snow load increase the torsion effect. Some form of discrete support is required to reduce the pressure on the secondary components and strengthen the roof structure. In the assembly process, the sagging rods used for stringers and purlins are sometimes used as discrete supports, but they are not effective in all cases. Therefore, it is very important to use purlins and trusses to make the entire steel structure more stable under high load conditions.
